About Us

In 2012, John Paul Cutcher invited 18 fellow Jeep enthusiasts to meet for coffee, sharing stories, experiences, and a mutual passion for Jeeps. That simple gathering sparked an idea: to create a community that not only celebrated their love of Jeeps but also gave back to the Blue Water area. From that small meeting, the Blue Water Jeep Owners Club (BWJOC) was born.

What started as a group of 18 has grown into a vibrant community of over 2,000 social members. Together, we share adventures on and off the trails, all while staying committed to making a positive impact in our community. Over the years, BWJOC members have raised more than $75,000 in donations, supporting children in need and local veteran groups through fundraising events, volunteer work, and community outreach.

After his retirement, John Paul Cutcher entrusted BWJOC to Jon Alexander and Robert May with a promise to always put the club’s mission first. Honoring that commitment, they have transformed BWJOC into a committee-run, member-driven organization, where input from members plays a key role in decision-making. This approach ensures the club remains focused on its mission while giving members a true voice in shaping its future.

Today, BWJOC is more than just a Jeep club. It is a community of passionate individuals who come together not only for the love of Jeeps but also for the shared goal of giving back to the Blue Water area. From hosting events to supporting local charities, the club continues to grow, bringing people together to make a lasting difference—one Jeep ride at a time.

What we do.

Driven by Adventure. Powered by giving and the love of our Blue Water Community.

Shop 4 Kids

Our yearly fundraising efforts make it possible for us to host our Shop 4 Kids Day, an annual event where BWJOC adopts up to 20 children, from infants through age 18, for Christmas. Through this program, we help ensure that local children experience the joy of the holiday season by providing gifts, essentials, and support to families in need.

Veteran Support

The Blue Water Jeep Owners Club is proud to attend the Veterans Day Ceremony annually at the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Memorial Cemetery, located within Lakeside Cemetery. This meaningful event allows us to come together as a community to honor the service, sacrifice, and dedication of the men and women who have served our country. Attending ceremonies like this is one of the many ways we show our respect and gratitude, while continuing our mission of giving back to those who have given so much for our freedom.

Off Road Adventures

BWJOC also enjoys trail rides in areas such as St. Helen and surrounding areas, our annual Fall Color Run in Grayling, and other off-road adventures at ORV parks throughout Michigan. These outings allow members to enjoy the Jeep lifestyle while building camaraderie and strengthening the connections that make our club so strong.

Parades

By participating in local parades such as the Rotary International Day Parade, the Algonac Parade, and the Sperry's Lighted Parade each year, BWJOC stays visible and connected within the community. These events allow us to show our continued involvement, engage with local families, and help spread awareness of our mission and charitable efforts.

Support & Camaraderie

BWJOC members support one another beyond events and trail rides by helping with Jeep repairs, upgrades, and unexpected breakdowns. Whether it’s installing new equipment, offering advice, or lending a hand when a member is in need, our club is built on teamwork, knowledge sharing, and a shared belief in our motto: “No Jeeper Left Behind.” This commitment guides us both on and off the trail.
